The Catalyst Fermentation System (6.5 Gallons) is an innovative piece of homebrewing equipment that simplifies the fermentation process, making it easier than ever to make great beer at home. Features seen only in high-end, professional brewing equipment were integrated into a compact homebrewing system that is both functional and elegant.
The Conical Fermentation Tank is sloped at 45° and made of Tritan, a BPA free material. Tritan is dishwater safe and incredibly resistant to scratches. Wort can also be transferred straight from your kettle to fermenter without cooling if necessary.
Perhaps one of the best time saving features is the integrated 3" butterfly valve where trub can be dumped, permitting primary and secondary fermentations to take place in the same vessel. While not only saving time, it reduces oxygenation of your beer, but the chances of contamination. After fermentation is complete, you can bottle from the same vessel using the included tubing adapter for the butterfly valve.
The advantage of the conical design is that it allows yeast & trub to flow down to the integrated collector, reducing contact with your beer and improving flavor. Yeast harvesting is easy accomplished by using commonly available mason jars.
