Appalachian Raspberry Wheat - ALL GRAIN

Among the wild berries that grow in the Appalachian Mountains is one that looks like a Blackberry but is closer in species to a Raspberry. This berry, (Rubus occidentalis), is sweet and black and actually looks like a Blackberry (Rubus fruticosus) more than it does a Raspberry (Rubus idaeus). They can be black or red.

Prior to the Great Depression many people resided in Appalachian areas that did not readily connect to larger cities. These brewers made use of many ingredients they found locally to make beer. This Raspberry Wheat Beer has gentle aromas of berries surrounded by a very refreshing and light beer that's boosted with some American Wheat Malt. Real popular during the summer months.
